What does MBPL help with?
MBPL helps athletes build the cognitive performance edge—focus, composure, confidence, decision-making, and rapid reset after mistakes. Common goals include performance anxiety, inconsistent play, overthinking, return-from-injury readiness, leadership under pressure, and stronger routines.
Is this therapy or coaching?
MBPL work is mental performance coaching and cognitive skills training (non-clinical). If it’s clear you’d benefit from psychotherapy (e.g., significant anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, or issues affecting daily life, early childhood stress), we can offer sport-informed psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist.
Do you work with hockey only?
No, hockey is a specialty, but MBPL supports athletes across many sports with similar mental skills.
What if I’m not sure which service is right for me?
Start with a Performance Consult. We’ll clarify your goals, recommend the right track (coaching, psychotherapy, or team options), and outline the next best step.
Is it virtual or in-person?
We work with adolescents and adults, including parent involvement when helpful.
How does the 6–8 week program work?
You’ll build a repeatable performance system: baseline assessment, pressure points, routines, a reset protocol, focus training, and a game-day plan. Sessions are practical and include “mental reps” between meetings to transfer skills into competition.
MBPL offers virtual sessions, and in-person options are available when scheduled. Team sessions may be virtual or in-person, depending on location and timing.
If you’re receiving psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist, you’ll receive an insurance-ready receipt with the provider’s registration details (coverage depends on your plan).

How quickly will I notice a difference?
Many athletes feel a shift within a few sessions—especially with a reset protocol and routine changes. Consistency under pressure typically improves with reps over several weeks.
Do you work with teams?
Yes, we offer workshops and packages focused on team routines and leadership.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please provide 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be charged the full session fee (except for emergencies).
